Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (brakes, tires, fluids, lights) to ensure complete compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Dispatch Communication: Maintain open contact with dispatchers and yard personnel to report traffic delays, mechanical defects, or on-site delivery hazards.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Licensing: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Medical Clearance: Current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 months of verifiable commercial tractor-trailer or heavy truck driving experience.
  • Compliance: Clean FMCSA Clearinghouse record and ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Age Limit: Must be at least 21 years old (or 18 for purely intrastate travel, depending on state guidelines).

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to climb in and out of the cab frequently, work outdoors, and lift or move objects weighing between 40 to 75 lbs if handling cargo.

Typical Work Conditions & Benefits:
  • Home Time: Home daily, operating within a localized radial mile limit (typically a 50 to 150-mile radius).
  • Compensation Type: Paid hourly with overtime after 40 hours, or paid a daily/weekly guaranteed component rate.
  • Benefits: Insurance, 401(k) retirement match, and accrued Paid Time Off (PTO).
